I graduated from the University of Southampton and began my career in the NHS at Derriford Hospital, gaining valuable experience of working in a major trauma centre and treating patients with respiratory, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, and musculoskeletal pathologies. I went on to gain a senior position specialising in outpatients rotating into different sectors of trauma, plastics and burns, hydrotherapy, as well as more common injuries.
Early in 2016 I moved to the Nuffield Health hospital in Plymouth to treat both inpatients and outpatients, pre- and post-operatively, as well as athletes and regular musculoskeletal conditions. Further to this in the November I joined Saltash Physiotherapy where I am able to provide evening appointments for clients.
I have a special interest in manual therapy, and have been trained in Maitland and Mulligan manual concepts, as well manipulative therapy.
Furthermore, I have undertaken numerous post-graduate training courses, including running analysis, taping and strapping, and sports massage. As a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists I use acupuncture for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, as an adjunct to treatment.
Outside of my hospital work, having trained in sports trauma management, I was team physiotherapist for one of Plymouth’s local rugby clubs, providing match day pitch side trauma management, as well as assessment and treatment at the club.
